Qualifications
Dr. Abu-Zahra has 5+ years of experience as a practicing pediatric hospitalist at three community hospitals in the Coachella Valley. Dr. Abu-Zahra provides consultation for chart reviews, expert witness depositions, and testimony. Dr. Abu-Zahra is double board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) in general pediatrics and pediatric hospitalist medicine and is a fellow of the American Association of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Abu-Zahra graduated from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Maryland in Baltimore. He currently works in two community hospitals all with newborn nurseries, inpatient pediatrics and ER consults. Dr. Abu-Zahra is the chair of pediatrics at two of the community hospitals. He is heavily involved in quality improvement projects, policy renewal, medical executive committee, as well as pediatric hospitalist standard of care practices and several other committees. Dr. Abu-Zahra holds two academic appointments at Loma Linda University and University of California at Riverside.
